Our elevator pitch

We launched Katoo with the intention to offer digital tools to the HoReCa industry: currently, 99% of restaurants make orders to their suppliers via either phone, e-mail, WhatsApp or even voicemail! Through Katoo, we help every type of restaurant - from traditional bars to groups of 30 Point of Sales - control their procurement better via a completely free mobile app.

Katoo was founded in July 2019 by a young group of entrepreneurs coming from Uber & BCG that failed to open their dark kitchen: mostly because they couldn't get procurement right!

We are a Southern European start-up aiming at facilitating the currently unstructured, old-school restaurants-suppliers relationships. We currently operate in Spain 🇪🇸, Italy 🇮🇹 and Portugal 🇵🇹 - but we'll be opening new markets soon!

We are well-positioned to pursue this opportunity, after raising +$10M from international investor such as K Fund, Rocket Internet, Otium Capital, Expa, FJ Labs and well-known founders including the founders of Glovo, TheFork or Tiller.

Despite lockdowns, we have grown our business exponentially in the last 12 months. We are proud of having helped more than 5.000 restaurants and suppliers reduce the time spent on low value-added activities and providing them extra time to focus on their core business. We recently launched our second product and rest assured we have ambitious plans for what's next - including expanding our services to more countries 🚀🌍

Our Vision

In 2021, consumers are used to ordering their favourite 🍕  and 🍔 from restaurants in just two clicks using apps like Glovo, UberEats, Deliveroo, etc.

Restaurants are still using pen & paper, WhatsApp, phone calls or even fax (yes, it's a thing!) to place their orders to their suppliers.

Also, at the other side you’ll find thousands of suppliers waking up at 4am, listening to countless voice notes and spending hours manually inputting the orders sent by their restaurants into their ERPs. The process is boring, time-consuming and prone to mistakes for both sides.

Our vision is (not so) simple: "Create tools that will make the food supply chain efficient, fair and transparent"! Restaurants have been digitalised on most ends through delivery players, PoS, payments, ... But if you ask them how they placing orders to their suppliers - they'll say "Telephone, SMS, email, fax (🙀!!!)". Just like they did 20 years ago.
